What weight should I be for barre?
A 1.5kg (3lb) weight is good to start with, but if you find you are struggling to perform the exercises with correct form, just switch to a lower weight.
Why are shorts not allowed in barre?
In certain positions you use a ball or wrap a tube around your thighs and if you are wearing shorts you will not get the grip needed to keep the equipment in place — especially if you’re a little sweaty or have lotion on. So slippery!
